Response to Calgary City Council’s proposed ridesharing bylaw

Calgary, like the rest of Alberta, is going through a difficult economic period. At the time of the injunction, Uber was connecting 1,800 Calgarians with flexible earning opportunities. If the city were to support progressive regulations that ensure safety, it could immediately facilitate thousands of income opportunities at a time when many Calgarians are most in need.

Share the Warmth this Holiday Season

It can be tough finding time to make it to your local donation centre during the holidays. That’s why we’re teaming up with our friends at YESS to make donating clothing quick and convenient for our Edmonton riders! This Saturday, December 12th at just the touch of a button a driver will come to your home, pick up your gently used clothing items, and deliver them directly to a donation centre– all for free!

Behind the Wheel with Uber Calgary Drivers

As we work to bring Uber back to Calgary, we have been continuously overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and dedication from our driver-partners. Here are some of their stories.

Keeping Calgary’s roads safe

As the holidays approach and temperatures drop, now more than ever, Calgarians need to make the right choice before getting behind the wheel. And so, on Nov 13th we headed to National on 10th with our Intoxbox breathalyzer to raise awareness about the importance of not drinking and driving.

uberX Service Temporarily Suspended

An Alberta court has ruled against ridesharing driver-partners in Calgary. While this decision is unfortunate, we acknowledge the ruling and will suspend operations effective Saturday, November 21st. We will work with the City on establishing a regulatory framework that will allow Uber to resume operations as soon as possible.
