Don’t Rely on Luck Celebrate Safely this St. Patrick’s Day

St. Patrick’s Day may be next week, but that won’t stop many people from celebrating this weekend with a green-colored wardrobe and matching beer to boot. While everyone is out celebrating, we want to also remind people they don’t have to rely on luck to get themselves home safely.

Last year alone, there were 105 drunk driving fatalities in the state of Oregon, which represents a 19.3% increase from the year before. During St. Patrick’s Day weekend, Oregon State Police reported 3 fatalities and 36 DUI arrests, making it one of the deadliest holidays from drunk driving. But it doesn’t have to be this way. By making smarter choices and leaving your keys at home, you can help make the roads safer for everyone this weekend.

This holiday, we’re working with the Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Portland chapter to help reduce drunk driving incidents over the holiday and raise money for their ongoing mission to prevent underage drinking and save lives in the Portland Metro Area.
