Drunk Driving Affects Everyone Who Shares the Road

Over St. Patty’s Day weekend, we set out to help the Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Portland chapter prevent underage drinking and save lives by encouraging riders to leave their keys at home. We were thrilled to see hundreds of riders in the Portland Metro area join in the pledge to think and ride with Uber.

The Portland Metro community helped Uber raise $1,052 for their local MADD chapter.

Filling Portland’s Stadium Inside and Out

Basketball madness is upon us here in Portland! Hoops fans from all over the country are falling in love with the Rose City and trying to get to know it better. In the past 48 hours, we have seen thousands of people all over the Portland Metro Area opening the Uber app with the hopes of zipping around town. As this map shows, demand for Uber in the Portland Metro Area has been off the charts.

Behind the Wheel: Meet your PDX Drivers

We are so humbled by the tremendously warm welcome we’ve received from riders and drivers in and around Portland. From late night tweets of support from riders getting home safely to the thousands of signatures on our petition to hanging out with drivers and riders at our recent #PDXneedsUber party, it’s been great to see Portlanders from all walks of life come together to show their support in such a short amount of time. Our team hit the streets to hear from our amazing partner drivers in PDX. The best part of spending time with so many drivers in one day? Everything!

On Demand Food Drive #uberimpact

We launched in Hillsboro, Beaverton, Tigard, and Gresham with a warm welcome from all four Mayors. In this short time, hundreds of people in the Portland suburbs have connected with safe and reliable Uber rides to get from place to place. We believe that being part of a community also means giving back. As we continue to become part of these great communities, we are actively looking for ways we can leverage the Uber app technology to make a greater impact right here.
