Behind the Wheel With Mussie, Seattle UberBLACK partner

Today we are taking you Behind the Wheel with Mussie, one of our top-rated UberBLACK partner drivers. With his always dapper appearance, welcoming smile and professional demeanor, Mussie has given many 5-Star rides to Uber users in Seattle. We recently had the opportunity to catch up with him and learn a bit more about his life as an Uber partner, a world traveler, a husband and a father.

In search of new opportunities, Mussie moved from Eritrea nine years ago to live with family who were residing in the U.S.. Starting life in a new country, he was able to put his love of driving to work as a delivery driver for Zeke’s Pizza which helped him gain thorough knowledge of Seattle streets and how to efficiently move around the Emerald City. In February of 2013, he was looking for a change so he applied to be an UberBLACK driver and brought his Chrystler 300 on the Uber system. When we asked why he loves being an Uber partner, without hesitation he replied that he enjoys the people he gets to meet, the income is good and most of all he loves the freedom and flexibility to set his own schedule.

Mussie continued to tell us how the income and flexibility have made all the difference as these opportunities have helped reunite him with his wife and his two year old son. For the past two years he has been living apart from his family, but last month he was finally able to go visit and bring his family back with him as he returned to Seattle. With excitement in his voice he told us how much he has enjoyed showing them the beautiful sights of a new city and that he’s looking forward to seeing his son grow up.
