From San Diego to Hampton Roads, Uber is proud to partner with men and women across the US who have selflessly served our country.  The Dallas team would like to introduce you to a few of these Veterans and join us in extending a big “thank you!” for all they have done.


Meet Bill

Screen Shot 2014-08-07 at 9.20.18 AMBill’s Military Service: Former Army Logistics Captain who served with the 4th Infantry Division during the initial invasion of Iraq in 2003-2004. Bill also served as a logistics mentor, advisor and project manager in Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia , Bahrain and the UAE.

Most Memorable Uber Trip Yet: Taking one of the cast members of A&E Flip This House Connecticut to the airport – “we had a great chat on marketing and SEO”

“Since returning from Iraq in 2011 I have had a tough time finding full time work… [with Uber] I was able to bring in regular income and go see my wife and my son more regularly.”


Meet Eddie

Eddie’s Military Service: Currently an officer in the US Army Reserve. He has served in Afghanistan, South America and other domestic locations. He’s proud to say he’s served for over 21 years.

Uber Partner Since: March, 2014

Favorite DFW Hotspot: Anywhere hanging with his family, coaching his boys, or hanging out at the movies.

Most Memorable Uber Trip Yet: Uber Ice Cream Day – “A dad had sent ice cream to his kids and wife, who had just had a baby. He called them and told them to come outside. They were so surprised to see me pull up with my decorated Uber Ice Cream Car. It was so cool to their faces.”

“I am a husband and father of four great young men. I love family and believe it to be the true root of happiness. I thank God everyday for the many blessings He has given me. I’m not afraid to take chances, if I think they will benefit me and those I love.”


Meet David

David’s Military Service:  He served with the US Marines from 1988 until 1994.  David worked on CH53 jet helicopters for a training squadron in Tustin, CA and served during the first Desert Storm.

Favorite DFW Hotspot: Viewing downtown Dallas from Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge

Most Memorable Uber Trip Yet: One evening a rider admitted that his dog of 14 years had passed away. David listened, consoled, and was truly thankful he was able to help the rider out.

“[Uber] has changed my perspective in many things.  I never thought I would be doing this at this age.  I am loving every minute of it.  If I can bring a smile to every customer, I feel blessed.“
