To XFINITY and Beyond!

After “living abroad” in NYC, I was pumped to hear I’d be working for Uber Philly, which relocated me back to my home state. Naturally, I had to celebrate the big move, and after settling in I was looking to do something exciting for my first night back in PA. It just so happened that the Sixers were in a playoff game, and a friend suggested to me that we check out this new venue called
XFINITY Live! down by the Philly sports stadiums.

My first thought was, “Ugh. That is so freaking far away,” but after making the trek down, I was thoroughly impressed with what I saw. The restaurant we chose to watch the game at (one of over a dozen unique options), was a German-style beer hall, packed to the max with Phinatics sharing brews and great pub food. At half-time, I was able to walk freely around the complex, with beer in hand, to get some fresh air, enjoy the fire pits, and listen to some great live jams.

Fast forward to Uber Philly Launch night when I am introduced to Rob Johnson and Glenn Sutch, partners in crime of XFINITY Live!

Talks of partnership came about, and a few days later we’re hanging with the crew at Spectrum Grille. Before sitting down to our delish dinner (try the Cod!), Rob gave us a 5-star tour.

Mind. Blown. This place was far more expansive and way sweeter than I had realized during my first trip. From the upscale Spectrum Grille where we dined, to a family-friendly pub, to a country western themed bar with one of only two mechanical bulls in PA, this hot spot truly has something for everyone. Listen to a free cover band outside on the promenade as you watch the Phillies on a Jumbotron-type screen, walk around the “market place” and grab a true-to-Philly cheesesteak, or get your dance on after hours in the VIP lounge.

As aforementioned, however, it’s a bit of a hike to get down here, and transportation to and from this sports complex Heaven is a bit wonky. Sure, parking is free, but no one wants to draw straws to be Designated Driver, and I’ve seen the crazy line for cabs when the masses are dispersing after a big night out. The Broad Street line is a fairly easy option as well, but if you’ve ever taken that particular subway after dusk…well, I don’t think I need to say more.

UBER TO THE RESCUE! What better way to provide safe, easy, CONVENIENT and classy transportation for XFINITY Live! clientele. Uber is super stoked to be a preferred transportation service to the plethora of events, game nights and concerts.

For example, each Saturday, guests are treated to FREE live music from known bands and performers such as Trent Tomlinson and Greengenes. This week, Uber will be teaming up with XFINITY Live! for the first time to offer $10 off rides for this infamous weekly “Big Night Out” June 23rd featuring cover band Go Go Gadjet. The stage will be rockin’ and the beers will be flowing. What’s more, the Phillie’s have got themselves a sold out stadium for the Saturday afternoon, so riders can use Uber to get in on the game day action as well (promo applies noon to 2 am!).

And so begins Uber’s Happily Ever After with XFINITY Live! Stay tuned for more upcoming events and promos, and no matter the day, Uber will always be around to be your private driver.
