Is there a better city to celebrate this 4th of July holiday than the one where it all started? Get around the birthplace of America responsibly this holiday weekend by taking Uber to and from your picnics, parties, and firework festivities.

The Wawa Welcome America Festival and fireworks are spectacular ways to spend Independence Day, but keep in mind this means detours and delays throughout the city.

Walk a few blocks north or south BEFORE requesting your ride. Below Cherry St or above Spring Garden are safe bets! Pay close attention to your pin location to ensure you and your driver are both headed to the right spot.


  • Get into the right Uber. After you request a driver we give you a few tidbits in the app to help you make sure you hop into the correct car. Three things in the app you can verify: The name of the driver, car type, and license plate.
  • Surge Pricing. We suggest you read up on how surge pricing works to familiarize yourself with the process. Surge pricing does drop, so stay put and enjoy the festivities while you wait for demand to reduce.
