An Economic Impact in the Keystone State
Since launching the Uber platform in Pennsylvania over three years ago, we have facilitated millions of rides throughout the state. Today, Uber is available to more than 77% of Pennsylvanians with over 87% of rides arriving within 10 minutes, and more than half arriving in less than four minutes. We are proudly connecting riders and drivers in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton, Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, State College, Lancaster, York, Reading and Erie, and we look forward to continuing to expand across the state.
Uber’s impact is broad: helping a jobseeker to an interview, a parent get home in time for family dinner, a businesswoman with an important client meeting, or a student arrive home safely from a night out with friends. In addition to making it easier to move around, Uber has had a significant economic impact in the Commonwealth. This year, driver partners across PA will take home over $100 million in net earnings. Take a look at the numbers and projections below to see how Uber is helping to move Pennsylvania forward.
Tens of Thousands of Jobs for Pennsylvanian Entrepreneurs
Uber is unlocking economic opportunity and empowering entrepreneurs across the Keystone State. Driver partners are supplementing their income or working full-time, while enjoying the flexibility of being their own boss and setting their own schedule. To date, Uber has created more than 20,000 jobs right here in Pennsylvania, and this is just the beginning. Uber is now adding more than 3,000 jobs every month across the state, and is projected to generate more than 150,000 jobs by the end of 2020.
Uber Pennslyvania – #PAlovesUber
Uber and our entrepreneurial driver partners are working hard to better connect communities across the state, help unleash economic opportunity, and deliver safe, reliable and affordable transportation alternatives to workers, parents, tourists, business travelers, and partygoers. During this legislative session we hope to codify the two-year license we received from the Public Utilities Commission to permanently secure Uber’s place in Pennsylvania’s transportation ecosystem.
We’re excited to expand the Uber for Business platform beyond business travel, to include a world-class customer transportation solution, Uber Central. With Uber Central, organizations of all shapes and sizes can now easily provide on-demand, door-to-door transportation for their customers, clients, and guests.
A little over a year ago, we set out to put a new spin on an old classic–make reliable food delivery available at the tap of a button. Back then, we started by offering food in the UberEATS app from 1,000 pioneering restaurant partners in four cities. And today, more than 40,000 restaurants globally–from poke shops to pasta spots–are sharing food with customers through UberEATS. With a growing restaurant community comes more choices and more complexity. So we’re cooking up features to continue to make UberEATS easy and reliable. Here is a taste–
