Governor’s Island is seriously where it’s at this summer. For one, there’s now a space in the park called Hammock Grove, where, you guessed it, you can lounge around on hammocks all day. If hammock-hanging isn’t your thing (or if you don’t have the back for it), enjoy a spot of lunch on Liggett Terrace, the park’s new plaza, which features plenty of seating and public art on view. Full details about the park’s new additions can be found here.

Otherwise, post up at your favorite watering hole and get your hooligan on with other fans.

Spend the day supporting the Ovarian Cancer Research Fun (OCRF) in the Hamptons by shopping at this annual “designer garage sale,” which brings together the top names in luxury fashion, beauty, children’s products, and home goods. All proceeds from product and ticket sales go toward the OCRF in their battle to fight Ovarian cancer, so make your shopping count! When you’re done, give your arms a rest from all of the bag-carrying at one of the event’s spa experience tents, or grab a bite with the family and just people-watch. The day kicks off at noon and goes until 6pm. Oh, and it’s hosted by Kelly Ripa and Donna Karan. Tickets can be purchased here.

Have a great weekend!
