Pro Tip: Getting Around NYFW SS ’15

This Fashion Week is shaping up to be a scorcher. To save you (and your hair) from the sweat, follow our tips to ensure a smooth ride with Uber to some of the week’s most popular venues.

Notable shows: BCBG Max Azria, J. Crew, Charlotte Ronson

  • Like last year, your best bet for a pick-up (or drop-off) is The Roslyn and Elliot Jaffe Family Drive, the covered entrance between Broadway and West 65th and Columbus and West 62nd. Drop your pin along Columbus Avenue and then coordinate with your driver once connected.

Notable shows: Cushnie et Ochs, Public School, Timo Weiland

  • For drop-offs you can head straight down 15th Street. For pick-ups, however, we suggest dropping your pin around the corner on 10th Ave., as pull-over space on 15th might be tight.

Notable shows: Creatures of Comfort, Karen Walker, Tess Giberson

  • For drop-offs, ask your driver to take you down the Chelsea Piers Roadway, which can be accessed via 12th Ave. between 23rd and 24th. Pick-ups can be requested here too, but your driver won’t be able to wait long. Another option is the adjacent parking garage, which is only accessible via the Roadway.

Notable shows: Prabal Gurung, Rag & Bone

  • Pick-ups and drop-offs will be permitted all along West 33rd Street.

Notable shows: Altuzarra, Diane Von Furstenberg, Michael Kors

  • Drop-offs at 50 Varick (between Laight & Beach) should be no problem. However, for pick-ups, we suggest requesting your ride to nearby 6th Ave. and Beach.

Notable shows: Rebecca Taylor, Kate Spade, Suno

  • This one involves a bit of walking: If you’re looking to avoid the post-show traffic, request your ride outside of the Empire Diner on 10th Avenue (at 22nd Street). Drop-offs in front of the venue will be no problem.

Notable shows: 3.1 Phillip Lim, Ralph Lauren Collection

  • This place is HUGE. Depending on what show you’re attending, your entrance and exit will be different. Streets will be bustling after the shows, so we’d suggest requesting your car to an address adjacent to the main entrance. This will make finding your driver as seamless as possible. Take note of the following:

  • For 3.1 Phillip Lim: Entrance is at 330 West Street (12th Avenue) between Spring and Houston.
  • For Ralph Lauren Collection: Entrance is at 550 Washington, Bay 26E, between Houston and Spring.

No matter the venue, things will be hectic after the show. We always suggest calling your driver in these situations to ensure a seamless pick-up. To contact your driver once he or she has been assigned to you:

iPhone and Android users: Tap the arrow on the bottom right-hand side of the app screen and select ‘Contact Driver’. From there, you will have the option to either call or text your driver.

Blackberry users: Click the phone icon on your screen to get in touch.
