On the Road With…DJ Kitty Cash

Fashion publicist by day and DJ extraordinaire by night, Cachée Livingston, aka DJ Kitty Cash is one busy New Yorker. Hot off the heels of New York Fashion Week, this young fashionista somehow found the time to catch up with Uber NYC about what she’s been up to, what song she’d like to strut to in her own fashion show, and how Uber help her gets her where she needs to go—on time and in style.

Give us the Reader’s Digest version of what you do: Fashion publicist for G-Star and DJ

How did you get your career start? My friend and singer Kilo Kish was looking for a DJ and she asked me to help her out.  That’s literally how everything started.

What does your typical day look like? Well, unlike most DJs I also have a full time job as a publicist for G-Star. So during the day I’m running around, on conference calls, and pitching cool sh*t. Then, after 6pm I’m on the turntables.

What are you 3 NYC go-to spots? I love The Ship, Cafe Select, and Lovely Day. Those are my usual restaurant spots. And Paper Source… I’m always there.

Where can we typically find you on your day off? In my room! Haha.

Did you have a lot going on for NYFW this year? I had a big event with G-Star, Pharrell, and Bionic Yarn, plus a few shows and gigs.

What songs or artists are currently on your playlist? Kilo Kish, Drake, Twigs, Sade, and Lauryn Hill

If you had to walk the runway your self, what tracks would you want to strut to? OMG. Hmm… Anything vintage Janet Jackson or vintage Madonna.

What fall fashion or beauty trends are you most excited about this season? I love the bold eyeliner, and I’ve been spotting a lot of short shorts in different fabrics.

What’s your favorite venue that you’ve ever played at? I once played underneath a bridge in London. I love random and unexpected venues.

Who were you musical inspirations growing up? Anita Baker, Janet Jackson, Lauryn Hill, and Britney Spears

What’s the most common Uber trip you take? From SoHo to my house

What’s the best experience you’ve ever had in an Uber? I was headed from Milk Studios to Ryan McGinley’s show and my Uber driver was asking me about fashion week and told me that he loved  my outfit. He was super sweet.

What’s next for Kitty Cash? Production, more curating, and more learning!
