Barbeque, music festivals, and fairs—summer activities are here! The weather is calling to put on your sunglasses and sunscreen and stake out at the best concerts, cookoffs, and sporting games New Jersey has to offer. Take a look at our can’t-miss activities in June. We’ve got your ride all summer, especially if you’re interested in sampling some of the season’s best drafts and rosés.
Where: Stockton Seaview Hotel and Golf Club | Galloway, NJ
Tee up for 3 days of golf from the best female players around the world. The 28-year old tradition takes place on the Bay Course and Pines of Stockton Seaview Hotel and Golf Club, one of the most sought-after courses on the East Coast. And of course, we’ll have a driver for you, whether you know how to swing one or not.
Kick off the month with this food and music festival featuring the best of local New Jersey bites and musicians. Each year thousands of people flock to the 3-day event, and you’ll understand why once you get there. Grab a lawn chair, sit back, and enjoy what summer’s all about.
From documentaries, short films, and spotlights, to comedies, drama, and family films, this film festival will give you something to talk about at every dinner party you attend this summer. Get a ticket for as little as $16 or go for a full pass. Either way, you’re supporting the Long Beach Island’s historical Barnegat Lighthouse.
A sunny day or warm June evening is the perfect time to visit the sculpture garden and there’s a full calendar of rotating events to choose from at the Grounds. But one of our favorites of the bunch is the #TBT outdoor films under the stars. Walk around before sunset, order a themed cocktail at the happy hour at Rat’s Restaurant, and head to the park to enjoy the night.
Where: MetLife Stadium |1 MetLife Stadium Dr, East Rutherford, NJ
Soccer fans, rejoice. The world’s largest international continental football tournament is in the U.S. for the first time ever. And matches will be in New Jersey, not once, but twice. The June 12 matchup between Ecuador and Haiti, and the June 17 quarterfinal match will both be played at MetLife Stadium. If you can’t snag tickets, gather your soccer-loving friends and head to one of our favorite sports bars.
The fair is one of the few places you can go where it’s perfectly acceptable to eat bacon as a meal, off of a stick. Go with the whole family, or just friends, there’s something for everyone, no matter how old you are.
Lobster rolls, lobster mac n’ cheese, lobster empanadas—if you like lobster, this event better be on your summer bucket list. And if you don’t? There’s plenty of food to enjoy, with over 100 craft food vendors, we recommend going both days.
