Celebrating Our Women Driver-Partners
Last week we hosted an event to recognize the growing impact of the women driver-partners of New Jersey. The event, held at the new partner support center in Hoboken brought together nearly 100 people to celebrate the women of New Jersey who are partnering with Uber to move their goals forward.
Currently, there are approximately 2,000 female driver-partners in New Jersey. Not only have these women completed nearly half a million trips for New Jersey riders, but many of them are among the most highly rated partners in New Jersey.
Among the women in attendance, was top-rated, ex-Wall Street partner, Maureen. For Maureen, and many of the women there, the flexible schedule Uber offers is ideal for those looking for ways to balance spending time with their families, with earning a reliable source of income.
New Jersey General Manager Ana Mahony was thrilled to see such a spirited turnout from the women.
“It’s always inspiring to meet with New Jersey’s female driver-partners and hear about their unique experiences using the platform. From mothers who use the platform to earn income on their own schedule, to professionals who drive during their extra time on the weekend, we are seeing more and more women partner with the Uber platform as a way to earn an economic income while maintaining a flexible schedule.”
Driver-partner Claudette echoed this when commenting on how Uber enables her to fit in time with her family that works with her schedule as a teacher:
“As a teacher, I get two months off every summer so I spend extra time with my kids and drive with Uber. Summers down the Shore are always busy so I can set my own schedule and know that I can earn some extra money when I am free. I’ve always had a job on the side; tutoring, babysitting – but now it’s Uber, now it’s all Uber”
We’re excited to continue to bring more women driver-partners to New Jersey and offer a flexible way for people to advance their personal and financial goals.
We’re also happy to connect riders to more of our top-rated driver-partners, who happen to be women; something that many riders agree with.

A little over a year ago, we set out to put a new spin on an old classic–make reliable food delivery available at the tap of a button. Back then, we started by offering food in the UberEATS app from 1,000 pioneering restaurant partners in four cities. And today, more than 40,000 restaurants globally–from poke shops to pasta spots–are sharing food with customers through UberEATS. With a growing restaurant community comes more choices and more complexity. So we’re cooking up features to continue to make UberEATS easy and reliable. Here is a taste–
