Uber + Baltimore = Bal(ler)timore
Whether you call Baltimore “Charm City” (does anyone actually call it that?), pronounce it “Bawlmer” like a good ol’ native, or just tell people the neighborhood you’re from instead, we can all agree Baltimore just got more baller because Secret Ubers are on the streets!
Scott Burkholder of the Baltimore Love Project became Rider Zero this afternoon — the first Baltimorean to open our app and enjoy some #UberLove in Baltimore. The project’s iconic “LOVE” murals have helped connect Baltimore’s wide range of neighborhoods. With Uber in town, we hope to make it even easier to ride between these neighborhoods each and every day.
Scott took his first ride today from Federal Hill to Carroll Park to spread a little more Baltimore Love. Whether you’re heading out for a night on the harbor, hopping safely between neighborhoods, or spreading LOVE all around town like Scott, Uber is here to help.
We’re kicking things off in secret Uber mode, ready for adventurous riders to try things out! We’ll be testing and tweaking up until our official launch, so please let us know what you think on Twitter @Uber_Baltimore or shoot us an email at SupportBaltimore@uber.com. And if you don’t catch a ride at first, don’t worry! We’ll be adding more cars to the road each and every day.

We’re excited to launch Payment Rewards — a way to discover, track, and redeem rewards right in the Uber app. We’re kicking it off with Capital One®, where every 10th ride is free (up to $15) when you pay with a Quicksilver® or QuicksilverOne® card through March 2017.
