Devon

Operations & Logistics Manager

Chicago

Education
Georgia Institute of Technology, BA in Industrial Engineering

Work History
Inventory Solutions at Home Depot

About My Current Role
I get to come up with new ideas for projects and turn them into a reality, proving their value with data-driven analytics. One day I could be working directly with partners, and the next I could be coming up with a phone return solution for the entire country.

What’s Your Favorite Project?
Food Drive was my first experience helping to run an Uber experiment that directly impacted those in need. It was really amazing to see the impact that it had on partners and riders by providing them with a platform to give back just by riding.

Fun Fact
I can say the alphabet backwards.

Operations & Logistics Manager

Chicago

Education
Washington University in St Louis, BA in Economics and Political Science

Work History
Consultant at Bain
Strategy & Development at Strive for College, an education nonprofit I helped start while I was in college

About My Current Role
Operations managers have to do a bit of everything, so it’s hard to break it down into just 1-2 roles. The position really evolves with your own skills and what the city needs at any given time. The biggest part of my job is working on finding new partners to drive on the Uber system and getting them activated and on the road in a position to succeed. A lot of the work I do crosses city lines, too. I run partner communications for many cities throughout the midwest and Canada and individually own a number of special initiatives.

Favorite Project
Helping to bring UberMILITARY to Chicago and focusing on our Veteran driver partners.

Fun Fact
I’ve gone noodling (fishing for catfish with our bare hands) in the Red River on the Oklahoma-Texas border.

Santa Clara University, Dual BSC & BS in Accounting/Economics/Spanish

Work History
Associate at Pagemill Partners, a boutique technology investment bank
CPA at Ernst & Young

About My Current Role
When I first started, we’d hustle to onboard drivers at our local driver facility and handle all facets of driver support.  Now I lead our Vehicle Solutions program in Chicago, help with competitive strategy and local partnerships, and I run operations in the newly launched Springfield, IL.  I am also on the office’s Culture Committee.

Favorite Project
Running Ubercade during the Springfield, IL launch.

Fun Fact
I am related to John Lennon but am not the least bit musically inclined!

Work History
Healthcare Consulting at PwC Advisory

About My Current Role
I do a little bit of everything on the Operations side at Uber — from planning driver partner events, analyzing data, and providing partner support, to helping launch new cities. Uber is a very entrepreneurial company and provides managers unlimited opportunities to grow both personally and professionally. I love working for a company that creates thousands of jobs and makes communities better.

Favorite Project
UberKITTENS and planning special Valentine’s Day promotions.

Fun Fact
I’m running the Boston Marathon in April, and I’m pumped about it!
