Say Aloha to Secret Ubers
A swell of innovation is arriving now on the streets of Honolulu, where Kala Alexander – Hawaiian Surf Legend – catches the first Secret Uber to come ashore on the island of Oahu. You’ve seen Kala on some of the biggest waves that the North Shore has to offer and on the TV series Hawaii 5-0. When Kala isn’t in the spotlight, he’s devoting his time to the Mauli Ola foundation, which has helped to introduce surfing as a natural treatment to people with cystic fibrosis. Today, he’s our Rider Zero, inaugurating the newest way to get around Honolulu!
Getting to your final destination can be a challenge on the Island of Oahu, which is home to some of the worst congestion in the country. Finding a solution to such a challenge is a huge undertaking. Uber adds a new option to get around, and a technology that will help alleviate a greater problem. Half magic, half math, 100% real, starting today!
Loving Uber is easy – It’s simple, safe, and possibly the most elegant way to travel in the Pacific!
Here’s how it works:
1. Open your Uber app and request a car to arrive within minutes.
2. Come out when you’re ready: not only will you see the car arriving on the Uber app, but you’ll also receive a text message when your Uber is pulling up!
3. Get out when you reach your destination. Payment is seamlessly billed to the card on file with your Uber account, your receipt is emailed to you and there’s no need to tip.
In this secret phase we still have very limited availability, but secret Ubers are on the road and ready for adventurous riders! Should you manage to get your hands on one of our fine Ubers in Honolulu, send us your feedback at SupportHonolulu@uber.com
