Cool Schools 4 Ewa: On-Demand Fan Donation Drive

As our Keiki have returned to school, the high temperatures in some local classrooms have created a difficult learning environment – and Uber Hawaii is ready to do something about it.

We are proud to join State Representative Matthew LoPresti in a program called Cool Schools 4 Ewa which tackles the problem of high temperatures in classrooms. Cool Schools 4 Ewa accepts donations of large fans or high capacity portable air conditioning units to schools in the Ewa area – one of the hottest areas on Oahu.

Donate a fan and let Uber take care of the rest

As part of our continued commitment to our community, we’re leveraging the technology of the Uber app, for anyone in the community to support cooler schools. On Tuesday, September 1st from 3p-7p, you’ll be able to open your Uber app and donate a fan or high capacity portable air conditioning unit to this program from wherever you are. When you open your app, slide over to the fan icon and request, and in minutes, there will be an Uber curbside near your workplace or home, ready to take your fan donation to an Ewa school.

In addition to the fans we’ll be collecting to donate to Cool Schools 4 Ewa, Uber will match every donated fan with a fan of our own up to a total value of $1,000. With a tap of a button, you can cool down a classroom and Uber will double your efforts. Thanks for joining us in showing what the Uber community is all about.
