Tampa Bay, It’s Our Birthday!
When we launched last April in Tampa Bay, riders and drivers welcomed us with open arms. The rides taken everyday support local small business owners and entrepreneurs, providing them with greater economic opportunity. And together, we’re helping to drive our community forward through access to a safe, reliable option for transportation.
We’ve felt so much Uber love from the Tampa Bay community, so we’re celebrating our birthday by giving back. We’ve partnered with Feeding America Tampa Bay to donate $1 for every ride taken on our birthday – April 10 – to feed those in need.
We’re committed to funding at least 35,000 meals to help alleviate hunger in Tampa Bay. And all you have to do is ride!
HOW IT WORKS
- Request a ride by tapping the Birthday option at the bottom of your screen
- $1 from your ride will go to Feeding America Tampa Bay
- In effect Friday, April 10 until 11:59pm EDT
So let’s get this party started, shall we? #UberOnTampaBay

A little over a year ago, we set out to put a new spin on an old classic–make reliable food delivery available at the tap of a button. Back then, we started by offering food in the UberEATS app from 1,000 pioneering restaurant partners in four cities. And today, more than 40,000 restaurants globally–from poke shops to pasta spots–are sharing food with customers through UberEATS. With a growing restaurant community comes more choices and more complexity. So we’re cooking up features to continue to make UberEATS easy and reliable. Here is a taste–
This flu season, we’re delivering free flu-fighting care packages across the country. When you receive a pack, you’ll have the option to request a free flu shot from a registered nurse–for up to 5 people.
