Taking transit just got easier
South Floridians know that traffic gets a little more hectic when school starts back up. That’s why we’re excited to partner with Miami-Dade County’s Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) to encourage more people to leave their cars at home and take transit – by providing an affordable, reliable way to get to any Metrorail station.
From August 22 to September 30, Miami-Dade residents can ride uberPOOL to and from any Metrorail stop for just $3 any time the train is in service* – valid for all Uber users, new and existing. uberPOOL is already helping to take cars off the road in South Florida by matching travelers heading in the same direction. Now, we’re encouraging more people to consider a new way to commute – by making the last mile between home and the transit stop a little easier to cover.
“We know that a lot of our residents are curious about trying public transit, so we want to make the choice an easy one,” said Alice N. Bravo, P.E., Director of DTPW. “By collaborating with the ride-share companies, our riders have the benefit of a quick and easy trip to one of our Metrorail stations for a low, affordable price, without worrying about parking. Uber will get you to us, and then let us do the rest.”
“At Miami-Dade County, we’re all about moving our residents forward and making it easier for all Miamians to get where they need to go,” said Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez. “Collaborating with Uber means getting to and from our transit stations is easier — and faster — than ever.”
We are also partnering with DTPW to distribute free pre-loaded EASY passes to help more residents give transit a try.
We are proud to make it more convenient and affordable to ride with existing transit options in Miami-Dade – and to make sure you have safe, reliable transportation available at the touch of a button.

A little over a year ago, we set out to put a new spin on an old classic–make reliable food delivery available at the tap of a button. Back then, we started by offering food in the UberEATS app from 1,000 pioneering restaurant partners in four cities. And today, more than 40,000 restaurants globally–from poke shops to pasta spots–are sharing food with customers through UberEATS. With a growing restaurant community comes more choices and more complexity. So we’re cooking up features to continue to make UberEATS easy and reliable. Here is a taste–
