South Florida Gives Back with UberGIVE

cans!Last month, we asked the Uber community in South Florida to help make a difference for the food insecure—and the response was overwhelming.

On Friday March 20th, South Florida riders could request a car via the Uber app (free of charge) to pick up food donations for The Pantry of Broward.

In just 4 hours, South Florida riders donated over 500 pounds of food for The Pantry’s shelves—enough to fill nutritional meal boxes for 10 families.

“We’re thrilled to have Uber in Broward,” said Pantry of Broward Director of Operations Lydya Chapman.

“Our partnership with Uber was a great success, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the South Florida community’s generosity. We look forward to providing local families with the collected food throughout the month of April,” said The Pantry’s Director of Operations, Lydya Chapman.IMG_9909

Huge thanks to all the Uber users who contributed food items and to our partners who keep this offering moving. (Especially Yoel, pictured here, who took the food to the pantry and stayed to help unload it!)

“We’re thrilled to have Uber in Broward,” Chapman added.

Stay tuned for more upcoming opportunities to GIVE with Uber.
