Destination Spotlight: Disney and Other Family Spots in Orlando

When you think of Orlando, sunshine, theme parks, and costume characters often come to mind. Aside from those great experiences, Orlando is full of a wide variety of adventures for you and your family to enjoy. At first, it can seem overwhelming when you see how much Orlando has to offer, but having a game plan before you visit will assure you don’t miss out on any of off-the-beaten-path treasures. And when you add Uber’s Family Profile feature to your travel tools, you’ll get where you need to be with ease.

Here are some great family-friendly spots in Orlando to check out during your stay:

Disney Springs

This fun-filled destination has been undergoing so many changes over the last few years, and it’s even better than it was before. A free area that anyone can visit, you and your family can catch a Cirque du Soleil show or have a fun time bowling at Splitsville Luxury Lanes. Then when you’re hungry, you can pick from over 50 different dining options, like the chic steakhouse STK Orlando, or indulge your sweet tooth and grab a delicious dessert at Amorette’s Patisserie. There’s so much to do in this little town that you may never want to leave.

Madame Tussauds

Think of all the great family photos you can take with some of today’s biggest celebrities like Selena Gomez, Oprah Winfrey, and the Royal Family, who are just a few wax figures of famous folks you’ll find at Madame Tussauds in Orlando. Turn on your camera, extend the selfie stick, and get the whole family together to pose with your favorite movie stars and other personalities. Don’t forget to share your moments of fame on social media by using the hashtag #madametorlando.

Wet ‘n Wild

If water parks are something you and your family enjoy, grab the sunscreen and head on over to Wet ‘n Wild water park. You can relax by floating in the Lazy River, or free-fall down the six-story speed slide Der Stuka. And there’s also Blastaway Beach, the largest family water playground in Florida, which features two pools, a six-story castle, and 15 slides.

Sleuths Mystery Dinner Shows

Put your detective skills to use and help solve a crime in the longest-running mystery dinner show in Orlando, Sleuths Mystery Dinner Show. At the start, you’re greeted by the outrageous characters and treated as if you’re an invited guest—but keep your eyes open to see if anything suspicious is happening. You’ll then be treated to a comedy where clues are given to help you solve the crime. Enjoy your dinner while trying to figure out who’s the guilty one and after dessert, the criminal will be unveiled. Fun prizes will be awarded to the sleuths who solved the crime. Good luck!
