Destination Guide: Things To Do in Downtown Orlando

Downtown Orlando can provide days of entertainment for visitors of all ages. Parks, museums, restaurants, live theater, and nightlife all await your exploration. Although the city does have some public transportation, Uber is the best way to travel in Orlando.

Orlando Science Center

Just a 15-minute Uber ride from City Hall, you can dive into four floors of science fun. With tons of interactive exhibits, special programs, and large-screen movies, the Science Center is an outing for the whole family. Be sure to try out “DinoDigs” with your little archeologists, or let your budding meteorologist try predicting the weather in the “WFTV Severe Weather Center 9 Experience.” (777 East Princeton Street, Orlando, FL 32803)

Lake Eola Park

If you just can’t get enough of that Florida sunshine, head over to this popular respite in the heart of downtown Orlando. The park is also home to a variety of special events including a farmers market, concerts, and festivals. After sunset, the fountain becomes the focal point with a choreographed light show that changes every season. Be sure to check out Eola’s event calendar to get the most out of your time.
