Update on DCA

Taking an Uber to and from Reagan National Airport (DCA) can be one of the easiest ways to make for a smoother air-travel experience, but the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority has recently taken an aggressive stance toward airport drop-offs requested through uberX.

Uber is in discussion with area airports and Virginia officials on ways that we can cooperate to make sure we can deliver the best possible experience for Uber riders and partners. While we continue to work through these issues, Uber recommends that users take advantage of the following airport pro tips to help make sure your trip starts off on the right foot.

  • Consider messaging your driver to let them know you’re headed to the airport.    In the event that a driver can’t take you to the airport and has to cancel, you won’t be charged a cancellation fee.  If you are charged by mistake, we’ll take care of it.
  • Consider sitting in the front seat. We’ve found this makes for a smoother drop-off.

  • Request a drop-off at the parking terminal. Unlike drop-offs at the gate, drop-offs at the parking terminal tend to be a little more hassle-free and offer easy proximity to airport entrances.

We’re committed to making Uber a completely reliable option for airport trips, and we’ll keep you updated on any changes.
