uberPOOL: Your Most Affordable Way to Ride

We’re thrilled to introduce a new, innovative carpool option to DC—uberPOOL.

When you request uberPOOL, we’ll connect you with someone traveling the same way so you can share your ride and share the cost—making your fare up to 70% cheaper than uberX*. There’s never been a cheaper way to ride with Uber.

uberPOOL–Up to 70% Cheaper than uberX

Since the early days of Uber, we’ve been excited about the idea of providing transportation so reliable, efficient and inexpensive, people won’t need personal vehicles. uberPOOL is an important step toward that vision. When 3 people going the same way combine trips and divide costs, that’s two less cars on the road and a cheaper fare for all riders. And that means less congestion and fewer emissions in the city.

  • Request: Open your app, set your pickup and drop-off locations, compare uperPOOL and uberX prices side by side, and select the uberPOOL.
  • Ride: You may be matched with another rider, or two, traveling along a similar route.
  • Relax: Sit back and save.

uberPOOL is currently up to 70% cheaper than uberX. Fares are quoted in the app before you request, so you always know exactly what you’ll pay. Your uberPOOL fare includes a $1.35 Booking Fee.

uberPOOL is available for request anywhere in the Uber DC Coverage area.

uberPOOL has a max of 2 passengers per request, so feel free to bring a friend! Keep in mind, the second passenger added to your request will add $0.75 to your fare.

*Currently uberPOOL fares are 10-70% cheaper than uberX.

$3.00 minimum includes $1.35 Booking Fee. Rates do not include surge pricing, tolls, and airport fees and apply to riders in the Washington DC service area. Sample fares are average estimates shown in DC during commuting hours (Monday-Friday 6am-10am, 4pm-8pm). Actual fares vary based on time of day, pickup location and drop-off location. Terms subject to change.
