Uber + MedStar = Rides to a Better Health
Patients who miss medical appointments or have to reschedule at the last minute frequently cite transportation as a factor. That’s why we’re excited to announce a partnership with MedStar Health, the largest healthcare provider in Maryland and the DC metro region, to help ensure reliable and convenient rides to medical appointments.
MedStar is focused on becoming a premier digital healthcare organization. And through MedStar’s integration with the Uber API, they’re able to take a step towards this goal and bring technology to patient engagement.
GETTING TO THE DOCTOR JUST GOT EASIER
A “Ride with Uber” button will be displayed on MedStar’s website so MedStar patients and their loved ones will be able to quickly request a ride. They will also be able to set a ride reminder in advance of upcoming doctor’s visits to automatically send a notification an hour before their appointment so they never have to worry about running late.

This integration will offer tens of thousands of patients through DC, Maryland, and Virginia another convenient way to move from home or office to any of MedStar’s ten hospitals or hundreds of outpatient locations and urgent cares, all with the touch of a button.
