Uber DC Love!

We began testing last night in DC and we have nothing but love for our city. It looks like Uber is going to make quite a splash in the District. Check out our first feedback email! Keep the feedback rolling – we’ll be adjusting and improving every day.  (Thanks Geoff for letting us post)

Dear Uber,

Just wanted to send a note to let you know that I had an amazing first experience with Uber in DC tonight. Went out to dinner tonight with my girlfriend and, at the end of our meal in Dupont, I decided I didn’t want to take metro so I booted up Uber, hoping that the service would be online. Lo and behold, it was, and I had an Uber car at my restaurant within 5 minutes. I first experienced Uber a few months back on a business trip to San Francisco where we relied on it for everything from going from hotel to restaurant to getting to SFO to going to our conference. It was awesome in San Francisco, and DC could really benefit from a large Uber experience.

The problem in DC is that cab services are unreliable. Drivers often don’t know where they’re going and don’t know the city. If you order a cab you have no idea how close they are and they will more often than not pick up a fare halfway to picking you up and you will never receive an alert about it, leaving you waiting and frustrated. Uber is fantastic because it’s reliable, comfortable, the drivers are professional, courteous, funny, and friendly, and I always know how far away my ride is. I have no doubt it will be a smashing success and was so glad to get a ride on Uber DC’s first night!

Thanks again!

Geoff C
