Well, Mother Nature sure welcomed 2015 with a blast of cold air! We know freezing temperatures tend to induce hibernation-like inactivity, but we encourage you to head out to some of the awesome events and activities the city has to offer this weekend. Don’t forget, we’ve always got you covered with a warm and safe ride home.

DC’s Second Distillery | One Eight

DC’s newest distillery, One Eight, is opening its doors for a grand opening party in Ivy City. The debut will be complete with after-hours tours, food from Dirty South Deli, and a cash bar featuring District Made Vodka and Rock Creek White Whiskey cocktails. If you don’t have time on Thursday night to drink, mingle and shop – you can still hit up One Eight for a tour and samplings every Saturday from 1-4pm.

National Symphony Orchestra | Echostage

The NSO at Echostage may sound crazy, but it’s happening! This year’s NSO In Your Neighborhood program heads across the DMV so members of the NSO can break into various ensembles and configurations to present dozens of performances. One of which will be held at Echostage where DJs and conductors will collaborate in a show that is sure to amaze. Best part? The event is free .

Sip and Shake Off The Cold | Multiple Locations

When the temperatures drop, nothing can warm you up again like a sip of delicious hot chocolate. Good news in the DMV is that cocoa comes in many forms – splashed with cinnamon, sprinkled with sea salt, stirred with creamy peanut butter or filled with booze. Go on, indulge – you know you want to!

Abracadabra | Kennedy Center

The world’s best selling magic show is visiting DC straight from broadway! This mind blowing spectacular showcases the talents of seven of the most incredible illusionists on earth. You wont want to miss the stunning acts of illusion, levitation, mind-reading, disappearance and more! The show is at the Kennedy Center January 6 – 11 only, get your tickets here.
