The Weekender: August Edition
August came too fast but summer is still in full effect in the DMV. Looking to get out there and enjoy the final full month of summer? Here are a few of our favorite happenings this month to give you some inspiration.
Game, Set | Match
DC’s summer sporting tradition the Citi Open® is back for its 46th year! Head to Rock Creek Park Tennis Center August 1-9 and watch international tennis stars battle it out. Get dropped off and picked up at the designated Uber area located at Carter Barron Circle, near the intersection of 16th St and Colorado Ave. This area allows you to enter the tournament grounds through the VIP player entrance (south gate).
Fair Fun | Arlington County
The annual county fair kicks off this month! The family-friendly event is complete with carnival rides, musical entertainment, petting zoos, arts and crafts exhibits, and a variety of fantastic foods. Grab your friends or the kids and hit up the Arlington County Fair before it ends August 9.

DC Beer Week returns to the nation’s capital with a variety of beer focused events August 9-16. The annual event is great for craft beer lovers and celebrates the breweries, restaurants, bars, distributors, and the many beer enthusiasts in the region. Kicking off on Sunday, August 9, at Union Market’s Suburbia with Brewers on the Block.
