Meet Mothers that Own the Road

We often talk to driver-partners who tell us that their kids are the reason they drive with Uber. They balance baseball practice and nursing schedules. They save up for college funds and dance camp. They are moms that do it all.

Meet just a few of the moms who got behind the wheel to help support their families. Learn about what drives them to drive you.

And remember, this Mother’s Day, don’t forget to call your mother! She does a lot.

Blue Watch

Meet Florencia. She’s a mother of 8 and loves to meet new people.

How does Uber fit into your life?

I have 8 children. I started driving when my youngest was about to graduate from high school. I needed to make some extra money to help her with college. It worked out perfectly. I like the flexibility because I can always take care of what I need to take care of at home. And it’s so easy and simple!

I’ve met so many incredible people from all over. DC is a rainbow of people from all cultures and background. I’ve spent most of my life raising my children. And now I’m out and about about on my own. That’s really exciting!

What will you be doing this Mother’s Day?

I’ll be home and each of my kids will stop by throughout the day. I plan on being at home and relaxing.

Meet Ebony. She has a newborn and a busy schedule to work around.

How did you hear about Uber and how does it fit into your life?

One of my girlfriends is an Uber driver. She recommended it to me. I drive when it really works for me. I have a 5-month old that I nurse, so I drive around his schedule. It allows me to make some money in the middle of my crazy, sporadic schedule. Uber is a blessing for me. I love it. It’s really fun. It’s not that I have to work, I want to. I want to be present for my kids too. Uber allows me to do both. It’s so easy.

What will you be doing this Mother’s Day?

I have no idea! The more kids you have, the less you think about that. Mother’s day is every day. My kids will do something, but they never tell me what they’re going to do!

Meet Diane. She’s dedicated to helping her daughter live her dreams.

How did you hear about Uber and how does it fit into your life?

I learned about Uber from the news, and decided to sign up to make some extra money. I have a 12 year old. She’s a performer, and I use the cash to pay for her lessons. She’s heading to voice camp this summer, and I drive before work to help get her there.

What will you be doing this Mother’s Day?

I’ll be driving in the morning, and then spending the rest of the day with family.
