Escape From Outside Lands

Music! Craft Beer! Tents full of lamb!!! We at Uber know this is a week of excitement overload. A successful and talented Outside Lander, though, must spend some time thinking ‘bout them details. How are you getting to the park? How are you getting home? Are Bloody Marys a good idea? (The answers are Uber, Uber, and of course Bloody Marys are a good idea! Make ‘em Spicy!)

Uber will be all over Outside Lands this year. We have increased the number of cars on the streets, and our drivers are more than ready to take you to and from the festival madness. Rest assured, Uber has everything covered over here. There are, however, a few simple details you will need to remember to ensure that sweet Uber pickup:

Request your pickup outside the park.

When requesting a ride out of the festival, Golden Gate Park is hot lava! Stay off the lava! Walk two blocks north or two blocks south. Get a sandwich, have a drink, request an Uber. You will have a much better chance of getting a car if you request a few blocks away from the park.

There will be massive demand this weekend.

Surge pricing will most likely be in effect. You will always be notified of any increase in rates. If you are ready to get to the after-party in the most stylish and  comfortable way possible, accept and ride!

When requesting a ride for Outside Lands, you must keep trying.

Your first or second attempt might not go through. But keep trying. There will be high turnover all weekend. Rides will become available! So be like the Little Party-Animal That Could. Keep going. Keep trying. It will be worth it!

Give your driver a call.

Having trouble finding your driver? You are not “Helpless”. He or she has a “Heart of Gold”. They will want to find you. So don’t wait until you are an “Old Man”. Ring those digits…you beautiful “Cowgirl in the Sand”. That one was a stretch. Neil Young Forever.

Ok, now that we got the deets out of the way. Let’s talk music. Here is a brief selection of bands the Uber office is excited about. We also threw together an Rdio playlist for you to enjoy.

Top pick: Die Antwoord

The Rest: Misters Young and Wonder, Electric Guest, Fitz and The Tantrums, Big Boi (if he’s up for it), The Dirty Dozen Bass Brand, Washed Out, Alabama Shakes, Trampled By Turtles, Andrew Bird, Tennis, Dr. Dog, Wallpaper., Santigold, Of Monsters and Men, Father John Misty, and Beck.

Final words of wisdom. This week: Get working on those details. Enjoy the music. And Uber on.
