Uber and Sacramento: A Romance for the Ages
For the past few weeks, secret Black Cars have been cruising the grid and getting acquainted with the locals of River City. We’re happy to report that the courtship period is over and Uber has officially launched here in Sac!
Head of Operations Ryan Graves and Sacramento General Manager Bennett Hauser kicked things off (very) early yesterday with an interview for Fox40 and later spoke to a group of students at Sac State. For lunch, the Uber team headed over to Ten22 in Old Sac to chat with representatives of various local media outlets, including Sacramento Magazine, Girls on the Grid, and Outword Magazine.
Things really started heating up at MiX Downtown, where we held our official Launch Happy Hour from 6 to 9 p.m. Guests tested out Uber with complimentary rides to and from the event and learned a little more about the company’s history from Ryan Graves’s presentation. There was wining, dining, and dancing — all in all, it was a pretty epic evening.
Falling in love with Uber? Feel free to shout it from the rooftops — or share any of your thoughts with us by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. If you still haven’t taken a ride, you can enjoy $20 off your first trip by using the code SacEarlyBird, valid through the end of March.
And, as a special Valentine’s Day treat, every car will have a limited supply of roses to give to some lucky ladies this evening. Show us the love by tweeting @Uber_Sac.
We’re so excited to be here with you, Sacramento, and we look forward to many fruitful years together.
We’re excited to expand the Uber for Business platform beyond business travel, to include a world-class customer transportation solution, Uber Central. With Uber Central, organizations of all shapes and sizes can now easily provide on-demand, door-to-door transportation for their customers, clients, and guests.
A little over a year ago, we set out to put a new spin on an old classic–make reliable food delivery available at the tap of a button. Back then, we started by offering food in the UberEATS app from 1,000 pioneering restaurant partners in four cities. And today, more than 40,000 restaurants globally–from poke shops to pasta spots–are sharing food with customers through UberEATS. With a growing restaurant community comes more choices and more complexity. So we’re cooking up features to continue to make UberEATS easy and reliable. Here is a taste–
