The OC Weekender: Hiking Edition

Since the weather forecast is looking glorious this weekend, we’ve put together a list of our favorite places to hike around Orange County. From Laguna Beach to Tustin to Orange, there are endless opportunities to enjoy the outdoors around beautiful OC. Check out our recommendations below, and don’t forget to request an Uber to take you there!

Crystal Cove State Park
Laguna Beach

Located off PCH, Crystal Cove State Park is one of Orange County’s largest remaining open spaces and natural seashores. The park has 3.2 miles of beach and 2400 acres of backcountry wilderness, providing awesome opportunities to explore both land and sea. The wilderness area of the park offers 17 miles of hiking trails and three campgrounds. Check out the higher trails for vistas of the rolling hills and the Pacific Ocean, and the lower trails for hiking through woodlands. You can view a trail map here.

Peters Canyon Regional Park
Orange

Peters Canyon offers a variety of graded roads and trails perfect for hikers, runners, mountain bikers, and horseback riders. Make sure to check out the East Ridge View Trail for panoramic views of the canyon and surrounding area. You can also hike the Lake View Trail to catch a glimpse of the Upper Peters Canyon reservoir. Santiago Oaks Regional Park
Tustin

If you’re looking to completely remove yourself from city life, this is the park for you. Santiago Oaks features 1269 acres of secluded paradise and has awesome views of Northern Orange County. Check out this park for great hiking and biking, charming mountain vistas, an orange grove, a meandering creek, and a mature forest. A series of interconnecting trails leads through shady groves and a lookout point with epic views of Orange and the surrounding foothills. A map for the park is available here.
