#RideWithPRIDE in San Diego
Love is Love.
This year, San Diego’s LGBT community has much to celebrate and be proud of. From the steps of the Supreme Court to San Diego’s own city hall, there has never been a brighter moment for LGBT Americans.
Tuesday, the City Council declared July to be LGBT Pride Month in San Diego, just days before this weekend’s 41st annual Pride Celebration. To show our support for Pride, we want to give back in a special, meaningful way. And we’re inviting you to take part.
This year, we’re thrilled to team up with the It Gets Better Project to help raise funds and spread messages of hope to LGBT youth.
The It Gets Better Project’s mission is to communicate to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth around the world that it gets better, and to create and inspire changes needed to make it better for them.
FROM JULY 17-18, REQUEST THE PRIDE OPTION AND WE’LL DONATE $1 TO THE IT GETS BETTER PROJECT
It gets even better. A select few PRIDE cars will be equipped with a video camera and postcards so you can help spread the message that It Gets Better. Whether you want to tell your own story, or share some inspirational and encouraging words, request the PRIDE option and you might just get the opportunity to share your message of hope on camera.
HOW IT WORKS
OPEN your app within the uptown or downtown area between Friday, July 17 at 11am and Saturday, July 18 at 10pm
SLIDE over to the PRIDE option
REQUEST your PRIDE ride (you’ll get picked up in an uberX vehicle at uberX rates).
RIDE and we’ll donate* $1 to the It Gets Better Project. If you hop into a vehicle that is equipped with a camera, feel free to share your story or a message of hope. Feeling camera shy? No worries, you can write a postcard and we’ll deliver it to It Gets Better.
Supply will be limited and demand will be high. If you’re passionate about sharing your story, we encourage you to keep requesting. If you’re unable to ride with PRIDE, we’d still love for you to donate to the It Gets Better Project and share your story via their website.
Uber is committed to diversity and inclusion and we’re thrilled to be partnering with an organization dedicated to spreading a message of hope. We’re excited to celebrate Pride Month with you, and we hope you will join us as we ride with pride. Thank you for making a difference.

A little over a year ago, we set out to put a new spin on an old classic–make reliable food delivery available at the tap of a button. Back then, we started by offering food in the UberEATS app from 1,000 pioneering restaurant partners in four cities. And today, more than 40,000 restaurants globally–from poke shops to pasta spots–are sharing food with customers through UberEATS. With a growing restaurant community comes more choices and more complexity. So we’re cooking up features to continue to make UberEATS easy and reliable. Here is a taste–
