Level Up with Uber in San Francisco

You may not be able to use Uber to summon Yoshi, but if you’re in San Francisco for the Game Developers Conference, you can potentially unlock something even more amazing — a surprise upgrade to a mint-condition 1960s Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud. We’ve got two of them cruising the streets this week, complete with retro 8-bit video game graphics.

A few lucky Uber users enjoyed these smooth rides last night, and the rest of you will have another shot tonight and Friday. If you want a chance to make the magic happen, request a regular Black Car anytime between 5 p.m and 1 a.m. (Fortunate enough to get a pickup from one of the Silver Clouds? Don’t forget to tweet or Instagram your pics @Uber_SF using the hashtag #GDC.)

We won’t lie — there’s a lot of luck involved — but when it comes to scoring a Rolls-Royce for the price of a standard Black Car, who can resist getting in the game?

… Your move, GDC.
