CATCHING UP WITH SUSAN FENIGER

Where can we typically find you on your day off?
I often hang outside, read a book or the newspaper, try to hit tennis balls, or walk with my gal and our pup on the beach. I also might swim, watch a movie, cook at home, relax in the hot tub, or go have a dirty martini and a yummy dinner with friends.

What does your typical day look like?
Typical days are hard to come by, but I might jump on a plane to Vegas to go to my new restaurant, do recipe testing and tasting, go to orientation to train my new staff, and conduct phone interviews. Then, I’ll head back to LA and go to either Border Grill or Mud Hen Tavern.

What are your top LA go-to spots (restaurants, bars, stores, museums, workouts, etc.)?
The Brentwood Bar and Grill, LACMA, the Hammer Museum, and Venokado.

Who/what are your primary inspirations in life?
Nelson Mandela, nature, animals, and giving back to the LA LGBT Center.

Everyone has some quirks – what are yours?
I like my socks to match my chef jackets!

What songs or artists are currently on your playlist?
Annie Lennox, Chelsea Williams, LP, and Megan Trainor.

How long have you been using Uber and what’s the most common Uber trip you take?
3 years – I often take Uber to meet my partner for dinner.

What’s the best experience you’ve had in an Uber?
In Chicago, I used Uber constantly! It was fantastic – easy, convenient, and a great way to see the city.

What’s next for Susan Feniger?
Border Grill at the Forum Shops in Las Vegas is just around the corner!
