Celebrating 3 Years in San Diego
Three years ago, Uber San Diego launched with just a few driver-partners on the road and only a few riders. Many San Diegans didn’t know what Uber was or the amazing potential it could have for job creation and transportation options in America’s Finest City.
As we celebrate three years on the road, Uber has revolutionized how San Diegans and visitors get around and experience our city. We’ve created thousands of new small business jobs with flexible hours and have provided riders from all across San Diego with a safe, reliable and affordable transportation option.
Today, San Diego has just over 11,000 driver-partners on the platform: 11,000 flexible earning opportunities for our friends and neighbors here in San Diego and the opportunity to invest that income right back into the local economy. We are honored to say that 1,000 of these are UberMILITARY partners and over 500 are bilingual uberESPAÑOL partners. Uber San Diego is also thrilled that over 2,000 of our partners are Uber Driven Women — an important part of our commitment to onboarding 1 million women partners by 2020.
Uber San Diego has transformed the way the city moves by providing safe, reliable and affordable rides to locals and to the thousands of tourists visiting San Diego from over 275 cities across the globe.
On June 18th, we invited the Uber San Diego community to Quartyard in Downtown San Diego to reflect on the last 3 years and to celebrate the road ahead. We have come so far in the last three years and we couldn’t have done it without the support and #UberLOVE we get from all of our riders, driver-partners, local leaders, business partners and supporters across San Diego. Thank you so much for three incredible years. Here’s to many more in America’s Finest City!

A little over a year ago, we set out to put a new spin on an old classic–make reliable food delivery available at the tap of a button. Back then, we started by offering food in the UberEATS app from 1,000 pioneering restaurant partners in four cities. And today, more than 40,000 restaurants globally–from poke shops to pasta spots–are sharing food with customers through UberEATS. With a growing restaurant community comes more choices and more complexity. So we’re cooking up features to continue to make UberEATS easy and reliable. Here is a taste–
