uberX: The £6 Minimum Fare

Uber London lovers!

Our competition has just announced a £10 – £15 minimum fare for all trips.

Having recently launched uberX, we are committed to bringing cheap and reliable transportation to London; the same quality and convenience of Uber but at prices that are pretty much the lowest on the market!

Why should you have to take the tube or bus in rush hour or stand waiting on a street to flag that £30 black cab home? Especially given our typically cold and wet winters! Our minimum fare is only £6, and our prices are effectively 30-50% cheaper than a black cab or any other taxi company (tariff level dependent). Yes, we’re the nUbers on the scene, but our team is working round the clock to get more cars on the road every day – current ETAs are 7 minutes in central London, and we expect that to improve as we ramp up to Christmas.

How do I get an uberX?

1. Download our Uber app in your app store or go to uber.com/app
2. Open your Uber app and you’ll find two options along the bottom: uberX and UberLUX
3. Slide the bar along to uberX to give it a try
4. Set your pickup location and tap ‘Request uberX’

uberX Flat Rates:

Central London to Heathrow: £30 – £45
Central London to City Airport: £12 – £33
Central London to Gatwick Airport: £45-55

Some Sample Fares:

Shoreditch to London Bridge £9
Bank to Berkeley Square £9
Clapham to Soho £13
Baker Street to The Tate Modern £15
Clerkenwell to South Kensington £17

Of course, we haven’t forgotten UberLUX, the epitome of style and luxury. Nothing beats rocking up to the coolest restaurant or club in town in a slick S-class and even then, the minimum fare is only £14!

Make sure you share the #UberLOVE by sharing your personalised promo code with friends (see the share tab inside the app) and of course, any questions or suggestions, we’re here to help! supportlondon@uber.com
