Introducing: uberXL!

Whether it’s moving house, travelling with family, shifting your skis to the airport or getting your group to a party on a Saturday night, there are times when a regular car can be a bit of a squeeze.

Pursuers of personal space, we’ve been listening! Riding with Uber just got a whole lot bigger.

Starting today, October 22nd, you can request a ride with seating for up to six people in London and up to eight in Manchester at the touch of a button.

John_uberXL_launchGetting the ball rolling is our Rider Zero, basketball legend John Amaechi, OBE, who requested a ride to the airport this week.

Huge news! What are the rates?

uberXL will cost £2.15 per mile in with a minimum fare of £7 in London and £5 in Manchester. See how this sizes up around town below.

#ProTip – travelling with friends? Fare split in three taps for a ride at a fraction of the cost!

Let’s go big! How do I request?

Request your larger ride in-app as normal by selecting XL on the vehicle icon slider. You can expect car types including the Mercedes Viano and Ford Galaxy. Availability may initially be limited.

Still riding uberX? To keep waiting times down, you may get an uberXL vehicle sent to you – rather than the normal Toyota Prius or equivalent – at no extra cost.

uberXL means you’ll literally get more for your money wherever you need to be. Now you can go big and go home!
