And the beat goes on: what London’s listening to

Last week we hit 100,000 Spotify-enabled trips taken in London – that’s a hundred thousand riders DJing from the back seat and thousands of drivers having a cheeky sing-a-long in the front (the cheesier, the better, and believe us when we say they know all the words…). It’s safe to say London is truly getting into the groove.

To celebrate this symphony of sound, we pitched the Uber London team against Uber London partner-drivers in a battle of the beats to compile the best playlist.

Vote for your favourite below and we’ll reveal on Monday who you can thank for those banging tunes and who deserves a shaming for the duff notes.

You can hear Playlist A and Playlist B right here.

And it’s the Uber partner-drivers who win hands down! With Bob Marley, Careless Whisper and Lionel Richie closing it out (we won’t even comment on ‘He’s a Pirate’ by Klaus Badelt), the Uber London team has been truly out-played.

Think you could do better?

Have you got what it takes to be the sound of Uber London? Submit your London playlist here! If your playlist is our favourite, we’ll put it in the app for everyone to see – and give you all the credit.  Just tweet us the link to the playlist in Spotify. Get mixing, London!

Looking for some inspiration on your next ride through town? We’ve picked the top-played songs for different times of the day and night. Unsurprisingly, Uptown Funk took the top spot at every time of the day or night, played on nearly 1000 UberMUSIC trips (time to use the Spotify Discover feature, people?) but click on the blue headings to see the pick of the rest.

London, thank you for the music.
