You may have read in a recent TechCrunch article something to the effect of Uber being made to look like a “lemonade stand.” We’ve been scooped!
We weren’t quite ready to announce our latest business venture, but at long last, here’s our next disruptive game changer: UberStand. (Formerly UberLemonadeStand, but due to the fact we sell more than just lemonade, California regulators will not allow us to make reference to lemons in our name).
The inspiration struck when we realized how hard it is to find a lemonade stand in San Francisco. Sure you come across the occasional stand from time to time, but there’s a serious lack of drinkable lemony-goodness in the SF city streets.
Using our new UberStand app, you’ll be able to request a lemonade and be given the location of the nearest stand. You can watch the stand on a map as you approach it and using the combined brain-power of our #uberdata team, we’ve nailed down a perfect system for predicting your ETA. Once you arrive at the stand, your oh so sour and sweet drink will be poured, chilled and ready for you consume right as you arrive.
But hey, this is Uber, we can’t just leave it at lemonade! We also offer UberDogs, pretzels and a variety of other beverages. Just ask for whatever you want and once you receive it, we’ll automatically charge the card tied to your UberStand account (tip included) so there’s no reason to hand money to the attendee.
We’re so excited about this new use of Uber tech that we’ve even had drivers get in on the action. Just look at the photo up top of Uber driver Oly splitting his time between driving and serving up lemony-goodness!
