Uber and Samsung Kick-Off Partnership

We are thrilled to announce our new partnership with Samsung, where over the next year, Uber will be featured at the top of the Galaxy Gifts widget on Samsung’s new flagship phones, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, along with other select Samsung models such as the Galaxy Note 4.

Samsung users in the US who are new to the Uber platform will enjoy their first ride for free (up to $25) via the Galaxy Gifts offer. Uber will offer discounts to users in additional countries in the coming months.

We are excited to think about the combination of Samsung’s reach and Uber’s global footprint – 300 cities across 56 countries – and its impact on getting riders around the world wherever they need to go whenever they choose at the touch of a button.

How it works:
  • Go to Galaxy Gifts on a Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge.
  • Download the Uber app and sign up.
  • A $25 discount (in the US) is automatically added to the phone’s Uber account.
  • Tap the Uber button and take a ride.
Uber’s partnership with Samsung follows other key partnerships with top tier mobile operators including: AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and Rogers across the US and Canada; America Movil across Latin America; and O2 Telefonica in Europe.
