In 2010, Uber started as simply a big idea for a better way to get around. Today, with the launch of Beijing, Uber is in 100 cities around the world. And we’re just getting started.
We are moving people in these 100 cities, but the truth is that it’s the people in these cities that move us. Four years and millions of trips after launching in San Francisco, each city is full of amazing stories—about drivers building their businesses, and riders connecting with their cities in new ways. As we celebrate this milestone, we’re proud to celebrate those stories and the communities who make them possible every day.
Each of the #Uber100 cities is unique, from Beijing to Oklahoma City to Cape Town. But what they have in common—and what is true in every city around the world—is that existing transportation options simply haven’t met these cities’ needs.
As we reflect on the last four years and look towards the next four, we say thank you to riders, drivers and the #Uber100. We’re excited for the next 100. And the 100 after that.

Back then, we started by offering food in the UberEATS app from 1,000 pioneering restaurant partners in four cities. And today, more than 40,000 restaurants globally–from poke shops to pasta spots–are sharing food with customers through UberEATS. With a growing restaurant community comes more choices and more complexity. So we’re cooking up features to continue to make UberEATS easy and reliable. Here is a taste–
