Dubai #ubereverywhere

It’s hello Middle East this time! We’ve been enjoying the #UberEverywhere journey across the globe with you for the past four and a half months, until we finally reached the 39th stop, #Dubai. We’re just as excited as the day we launched on September 24, 2013 because we’re going to take you on a fun tour across the first Uber city in the Middle East.

Dubai is indeed one of those unique places in the world that has undergone a rapid transformation – from its humble beginnings to becoming one of the fastest growing cities in the world, it’s like a magical lego-land. With its tourist-attracting dancing water fountains; its shark-infested aquarium inside the world’s largest shopping mall; or its crown jewel, the Burj Khalifa, which penetrates the beautiful Dubai skyline, we must admit…Dubai never fails to impress us!

Some Fun Facts?

  1. The World Islands, the largest man-made islands on earth, can be seen from space.
  2. Burj Al Arab hotel is widely-considered the only 7-star hotel in the world and is built on a man-made island in the sea.
  3. Sunshine for over 350+ days a year oh yea and we get less than 20cm of rain per year!
  4. It takes 60 seconds to get to the 124th floor on Burj Khalifa.
  5. You can enjoy desertsafari, snow skiing and the beach in one day!

Here comes the fun part, which will bring you, slightly closer to our city. We tapped that magic button and started roaming around the streets to give you a closer look of what Dubai looks like from an UberBLACK window:

Dubai’s Top 5:

There’s no such thing as top 5 destinations in Dubai because everything has to be seen. It was difficult, but we had to narrow it down after all. Here are our recommendations:

Beat the heat and visit early in the morning or late afternoon. You need about one hour to walk through the garden and see all the features. The Miracle Garden is like no other garden or outdoor space in Dubai or even the rest of the world. It showcases specially designed vertical and horizontal landscaping features. It is estimated that the garden contains over 45 million flowers.

  • THE JETTY LOUNGE:

An ideal place to wind down during sunset or after work and a great place to enjoy pre- or post-dinner drinks. The mood is laid back, with sophisticated chill out lounge music. Watch beach-goers and boats on Palm Jumeirah by day, and admire Dubai’s stunning skyline by night. The best time to go is around sunset.

Plan an entire day for this one. From breakfast to dinner, ice-skating and shopping to marine life and dancing fountains… there is a lot to see. You’ll be entertained the whole day. As the world’s largest shopping Centre and a premier indoor leisure destination, you’ll easily get lost for hours in The Dubai Mall.

A trip to Dubai would not be complete without a visit to Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. This architectural delight was officially opened in 2010. Since then, visitors have been able to traverse to its observation deck, aptly named At the Top. An ‘At the Top’ visit is much more than spectacular city views and dizzying heights. You will also have the chance to learn about the tower’s construction and Dubai’s history!

Even if you don’t stay at the Atlantis resort you can come and check out the amazing array of restaurants or any of its magical attractions. Boredom is not an option at Atlantis. The concierge desk can organise an array of exciting activities to cover your whole stay, including moonlight cruises, deep-sea fishing and sand-skiing!

Just book your tickets and leave the rest on us…We’ll make sure you leave with some awesome memories. Till then, don’t hesitate to get social with the team:

Lots of #UberLove to you all,

JP, Eliana & Carl!
