The service will be initially available for carpool commute trips that start from Gangnam district in Seoul. uberSHARE is available Monday through Friday (excluding weekends and public holiday) from 6am-10am and 5pm-12am.

Commuters are also able to sign up as uberSHARE driver partners via the official website.

Prior to the uberSHARE launch, Uber signed an MOU with Korea Green Foundation to help solve air pollution issues and decrease the number of single occupancy vehicles on the road during commuting hours.

“Uber is thrilled to bring uberSHARE to Seoul and give people a new way to get around the city during the busiest time of the day,” said Brooks Entwistle, Chief Business Officer for Uber Asia Pacific. “uberSHARE is an eco-friendly and affordable way for people to get to and from work, and we are proud to be playing our part in helping reduce traffic congestion in Seoul.”
