Around South Africa, riders have been asking for an easy way to pay for Uber trips taken by their loved ones. Having taken that feedback into account, we are happy to introduce a new feature called Family Profiles. This new feature allows up to 10 riders to safely and easily share one card as a payment method.

South Africa, cash payments experiment is live

South Africa, you asked and we listened. Choice is a beautiful thing and now all of you will have the option to pay for Uber rides using a card or cash. That’s right – you get all the Uber awesomeness and even more options when it comes to paying for your ride. If paying in cash – simply choose the CASH option, take a ride and pay the fare directly to your driver at the end of the trip.
