Uber Riders and Driver-Partners Pool Together $10,000 For The President’s Challenge

Thank you, Uber Singapore riders and driver-partners, for going the extra mile for a good cause! You have helped raise S$10,000 for the President’s Challenge, which will go towards supporting various worthy causes in Singapore from eldercare, disability, rehabilitation, healthcare to uplifting the pioneer generation.

Kicking off with National Day, Uber brought Singaporeans together with POOL for a Cause; contributing $1 for every POOL ride taken on 9 August. While riders got to know their fellow commuters better, the simple act of traveling together also became more meaningful and rewarding.

Driver-partners then got involved through DRIVE for a Cause, where they donated specific amounts from their fares on a special POOL Friday at the end of August. Uber then matched their donation amounts.

Uber riders and driver-partners shared what giving back truly meant to them:

“I’m doing this to spread a little care, love and help to those who are in need. The help and assistance means a lot to them.” – Fabian

“I want to help as I’ve seen elderly people who are sick and helpless, but are unable to pay their medical bills.” – Cheng Chua

“I think it’s our duty to contribute back to society. Helping the elderly who have contributed to our nation building.” – Joz

“I have been brought up to cherish those who are less fortunate. This is just a small token to give back to society.” – Anwar

“We should have a heart and show compassion. Even little gestures might mean a lot to others. :-)” – Ferina

Uber is committed to Singapore; to connect our communities and to help make a positive contribution toward our city. This coming October, we will continue to support The President’s Challenge by spending quality time with those in need, along with driver-partners.

Thank you so much for letting us do that in partnership with you. We couldn’t have done it without your help!

– Team Uber Singapore
