This Earth Day in Singapore
From paperless receipts, to increasing the number of eco-friendly vehicle options, to encouraging people to leave their cars at home, Earth Day for us isn’t just one day in April. We’re always looking to find new ways to make Uber even greener and make Mother Nature smile.
One of our goals at Uber is to reduce congestion on the roads by connecting riders to transportation so reliable and affordable, it’s easy to #DitchYourKeys at home and start ride sharing.
A feature we’ve recently introduced is to allow drivers, who are about to end their trip, to accept the next rider request. Riders will be notified that their driver is completing a trip nearby. For riders like yourself, this means you’ll get the nearest driver in your vicinity within the shortest time. This increases the efficiency of the whole system – lowering estimated time of arrival (ETA) for you and other riders, as well as reducing the need for driver-partners to drive around waiting for their next request.
In celebration of Earth Day, we challenge you to leave your car at home or share your rides with your coworkers, friends, or family. Not only does sharing your Uber ride cut down on road congestion, and carbon emissions, but it also saves you money.
Splitting your Uber fare is easy. Check out the details below:
HOW TO SPLIT YOUR FARE
- After requesting a ride, tap the “up arrow” next to your driver’s info and select “Split Fare”
- Select the friends with whom you’d like to split the fare and press “Send”
- Your friends with Uber will receive a message and be taken directly to the app to confirm
- Your friends without Uber will be asked to download the app, sign up and confirm their share of the ride
Happy riding this Earth Day,
The Uber Team

A little over a year ago, we set out to put a new spin on an old classic–make reliable food delivery available at the tap of a button. Back then, we started by offering food in the UberEATS app from 1,000 pioneering restaurant partners in four cities. And today, more than 40,000 restaurants globally–from poke shops to pasta spots–are sharing food with customers through UberEATS. With a growing restaurant community comes more choices and more complexity. So we’re cooking up features to continue to make UberEATS easy and reliable. Here is a taste–
