Introducing Disguised Phone Numbers

We’re excited to announce our latest safety innovation for riders and drivers in Singapore: phone number anonymization.

Starting today, when you communicate with your driver to coordinate a pick-up location, they will see a disguised number – your real number is never revealed. With this new feature, your driver can only contact you between the time you request your trip and minutes after the trip ends.

Especially useful when traveling, you can still contact your driver from a number other than your Uber-registered number. Simply enter your number and press the “CALL DRIVER” button – your number will remain anonymous. For phone calls, your and your driver’s number appear as “+65 3163-XXXX” For text messages, your and your driver’s number appear as “+65  9854-XXXX”
