UberPEDAL: From Two Wheels To Four

One month ago, Portlanders were finally able to open their Uber app and get a ride when they need it. Since then, over 3,000 people have signed up to drive and more than 70,000 trips have already been taken across the city. As we continue to grow in Portland, we’re committed to doing everything we can to address the unique needs of all Portlanders.

That’s why we’re excited to announce UberPEDAL, the on-demand bike rack option for when cyclists are in a jam

Whether you’re not able to ride because of a flat, a torrential downpour, or consuming one too many beers, Uber now has you covered. At the touch of a button and with a $5 surcharge, you can request an uberX equipped with a Saris bike rack (fits up to two bicycles), and in minutes your car will arrive, ready to take you and your bike where you need to go!

HOW TO REQUEST UBERPEDAL:

  1. OPEN your Uber mobile app
  2. SLIDE over to the UberPEDAL option at the bottom of your screen
  3. REQUEST your UberPEDAL ride
  4. RIDE with your bike safely strapped on a Saris rack.

Excited to tap that app but have nowhere to cycle to? This Friday, we’ll be hanging out at Velo Cult and would love for you to join us. There will be live music, free bike inspections and a special appearance by Boaz Frankel, the world’s only talk show powered by a bicycle.

Friday, May 29th | 7 PM – 10 PM
Velo Cult | 1969 NE 42nd Ave

What are you waiting for? Hop on that bicycle and know we’ve got your back, whenever you need us most. Uber (and pedal) on!

THE DETAILS:

Pricing: Rates for UberPEDAL will be the same as uberX, plus a $5 surcharge. One rack can fit up to two bicycles.

Reliability: During this launch period we will have a limited supply of UberPEDAL partner drivers. The best reliability will be in our core downtown service area.

Requesting: When dropping your pin or entering your pick up address, make sure you’re in an area where the driver has room to safely pull over in order for you to get your bike on the rack. We recommend requesting at loading zones and open parking areas. UberPEDAL Terms of Service
