Your ride to and from the TCSWorld10k

Uber is all about bringing people and communities closer, much like running. Which is why we’re thrilled to announce our association with Bangalore’s largest sporting spectacle, the TCS World 10k. Thousands of runners from around the world will be here to take part in this run in the heart of the city on May 17th, and if you’re going to be there too, simply Uber it.

Come race day, you don’t have to stress about how to get to the run. Leave behind your parking woes or having to hitch a ride, just request an Uber at the push of a button and a comfortable AC car will pick you up curbside within minutes to take you there for as low as ₹7/KM.

With thousands of runners heading there and the road blocks likely to be in place for the run, we’ve come with some helpful Pro Tips to make sure that Uber is still the least hassle-free way to get to the start line.

1. FARE ESTIMATE

Use the ‘Get Fare Estimate’ feature to avoid surprises and know what fare to expect for your ride to or from the run. Request the option that suits you best, and get Ubering.

2. REQUESTING YOUR UBER:

The run kicks off at 6.00 a.m from Kanteerva Stadium and here’s how you can ensure a hassle free experience.

GETTING TO KANTEERVA STADIUM

Fire up the app, a few minutes before you’re ready to leave to get to the start line. Don’t forget to factor in the ETA and how long you’ll take to get to your Uber when you book one, so you have time to warm up at the start line. The designated drop zone for Uber is UB City, which is a short walk, from the entrance to the stadium, do enter it as your destination when you’re headed to the run.

HEADING BACK HOME:

Once you’ve finished and picked up your medal, try setting a pickup location a convenient distance from the stadium that will let you avoid the traffic around the stadium and the road closures. You may have to walk a little, but once you’re in an Uber – you’ll be on your way faster!

The Route and the surrounding roadblocks

3. SAFETY FIRST:

Once your Uber is confirmed, remember to check that the license number on the app matches the one on the vehicle and the driver photo matches the one that’s come to pick you up. You could also use the “Send Status” feature to share details about your driver and vehicle – including live GPS tracking, driver photo, name and vehicle license number – with family and friends.

4. LOST RUNNING GEAR?

If you happen to leave some of your running gear or any other belongings in your Uber, get in touch with your driver immediately. You can find the driver’s contact information linked to your trip on your account page here.
